Windows asked about the firewall on first run. What do I click?

Click Allow. MessageGallery uses your local network to find other rooms (UDP port 45777) and deliver messages (TCP port 45778). If someone clicked Cancel, have your IT allow MessageGallery.exe in Windows Firewall — or on both private ports above.

A room isn’t showing up in “Online rooms”.

Check three things: (1) the app is actually running on that workstation (look for the tray icon), (2) both PCs are on the same office network, (3) the firewall prompt was allowed on both. Rooms on a different subnet or across a VPN need their IP listed under seed_peers in the ini file.

Can I change the quick messages?

Yes — all ten F-key presets live in the [quick] section of MessageGallery.ini, per workstation. Edit in Notepad, restart the app.

Where is the message history kept?

Locally on each workstation (last 1,000 lines), in the user’s AppData folder. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — your communication never leaves the practice.

How do I register after the trial?

Open Help → Register MessageGallery, send us the request code shown, and we reply with the matching registration key. One key per workstation. Licensing: support@compudent.com.

Does it work over a VPN between two offices?

Yes. Automatic discovery only covers the local network, so add each remote room’s IP address to seed_peers. Messages then flow between offices exactly as they do down the hall.
